Marco Jansen is a promising young South African cricketer who made his international debut in 2021. Born on May 24, 2000 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jansen is known for his left-arm fast bowling and his ability to generate bounce and move horizontally on the field. Jansen's impressive performances in domestic cricket earned him recognition and a place in the national team. He made his debut for South Africa in a One Day International (ODI) match against Pakistan in April 2021. He also represented South Africa in T20 Internationals. Due to his youth and early success, Jansen is considered a rising star in South African cricket. His tall stature, combined with his pace and ability to swing the ball, earned him comparisons to some of the greatest left-handed fast bowlers in the history of the game.
Jansen made his List A debut for the Northwest during the 2017–2018 CSA One-Day Provincial Challenge on April 8, 2018. Jansen made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 9 April 2021. He took 2 wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs, including the wicket of Glenn Maxwell, his first IPL wicket.Later that month, he was named in the Eastern Province squad ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa. In February 2022, Jansen was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad during the auction of the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament. In May 2023, Jansen was selected by Washington Freedom to participate in the inaugural 2023 Major League Cricket competition.


In January 2021, Jansen was included in South Africa's Test squad for the series against Pakistan.
